Are there still turn signals on cars ?

Question: When did car manufactures stop putting turn signals on cars?

Answer: Obviously after they discovered that just about everyone in America now owns a cell phone. And due to cell phones while driving they can't use their left hand to signal to other drivers what their intentions are because they have a cell phone stuck to their left ear.

Okay, okay, I know there are still turn signals on every car but I'd be willing to bet the turn signal replacement bulb business has dropped dramatically since the invention of low cost cell phones.

I was at a four way the other day. Of course people don't use turn signals anymore so all of us sat there and waited for someone to make a move. I was thinking to myself, okay looks like were all going straight, no signals are blinking. Well wouldn't you know it, one of the drivers with a phone stuck to their head was planning to turn.

As they were turning I tried to get their attention, I wanted to ask for their phone number. I just wanted to call and tell them to hang up and drive. And I know the driver understood what I wanted but only had time to give me the first number as they went by. The odd thing was...the driver used their middle finger to tell me that number was the number one.

Now I'll bet some of you are saying to yourself this guy's probably a hypocrite, he uses a cell phone while driving, we all do nowadays. If your thinking this you'd be right, I do. The difference is, every time I talk on the phone while driving I'm using a blue tooth, a great little invention and I still use my turn signals. No hypocrite here.

I do need to own up to a lie that I told in this piece. I didn't really try to get a phone number from the other driver, I just gave them a look that obviously made the other person think I deserved being flipped off. I'm sure the arrogant fool thinks that they are the most important person in the world and the rest of us should bow down in their presence. I would like to see these drivers get a ticket for the amount of one hundred dollars for not using a turn signal. That might help turn around this new form of laziness and disrespect to other drivers.
