Tax Freedom Day in Wisconsin

 Every year, we feel the burden the federal government has on us when we approach tax season. Let this time of time of year be a reminder that we believe there should be less weight on hard-working middle class taxpayers.

We can’t ignore the tax burden we face because it affects are everybody lives. Each day, we rely on thousands of small businesses, the engine of our economy. Expensive and burdensome regulations restrict opportunity and growth and we must work to make it easier for the private sector to succeed and create jobs.

Now that Tax Freedom Day falls on an even later date this year, April 20, Wisconsinites should see this as a sign for needed reform . As citizens we all pay our taxes on Tax Day, yet Tax Freedom Day continues to fall back further and further.

President Obama’s tax proposals haven’t made the situation better. By proposing even more increased taxes, it’s no wonder our economy has failed to fully recover. Washington should look to Wisconsin as a model for economic advancements and tax reform. In doing so, we can ease the burden facing us and move our country forward.
