Caledonia Senior Earns Peacemaker Award

Becca Small never really thought of herself as a peacemaker, but group at school helped bring that out in her.

Becca Kay Small, a senior who just graduated from JI Case High School, received the Peacemaker Award from the Kiwanis Club.

Small was a member of the Conflict Resolution Crew, a group that promotes community by leading team-building workshops. The CRC group also writes and performs their own play, which also promotes awareness of the need for community. She performed in the Great Escape and Scrap Metal Soul.

The award is given to a person who promotes peace.

β€œBut I’ve always been one for fairness and trying to make everyone happy,” she said. β€œCRC definitely enforced it more and helped me take what I’ve learned to a bigger level.”
