Dick Clark Brought Generations of Music, What Do You Remember?

At 82-years-old Dick Clark, the guy who brought us generations of music, has died and here's a place where you can share your stories.

Dick Clark had my heart.

And I'm sad that he died at the age of 82 of a massive heart attack today, according to a story in the Journal Sentinel.

When I think of Dick Clark, I think of the television show American Bandstand, and playing Barry Manilow's Bandstand Boogie over and over again while I danced around in my mother's dresses and sang into my hairbrush. Dick was the guy that brought John Travolta, Huey Lewis and the News, and Janet Jackson to me. He was the guy that introduced my parents to the twist, and the stroll. And he was one of those people that you just knew would make your year.

I consumed massive amounts of caffeine so that I could watch every minute of Rockin' New Years Eve. He was kind and genuine, and you knew the year would rock because Dick told you that. Dick also told you how much neon, how many volts, how many lights, and balloons were used the night of the milineum. He set the scene, he set the mood and he made every minute that you watched an entertaining moment.

Thank you Dick Clark for your very presence.
