Marijuana Grow Operation Busted in Racine County
Hydroponic grow operation uncovered 38 live plants, cuttings used to grow new plants among other finds.
RACINE COUNTY — Authorities uncovered a sizable hydroponic marijuana grow operation in the Town of Yorkville on Thursday afternoon.
On May 12nd, at approximately 4:00 p.m, Agents from the Racine County Metro Drug Unit, and Deputies from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant in the 17000 block of 50th Road.
Deputies uncovered the following:
- 38 live marijuana plants
- 39 marijuana plant "clones," which are cuttings used to grow another plant.
- 221 grams of marijuana plant seeds
- various drug paraphernalia

Authorities say an average marijuana plant can produce approximately one pound of finished product. The street value of a pound of marijuana varies dependent upon the quality or potency but can range from $1,000 - $5,000 per pound.
Authorities say Craig J. Klein, age 34, of Yorkville has been arrested and is being held at the Racine County jail in connection with the incident and is awaiting formal charges.

Sheriff's deputies arrested Klein on suspicion of manufacturing THC, possession of THC as a repeat drug offender, keeper of a drug place for manufacture in addition among others.
