Heating Things Up With Exploring Glass Workshop

Β Several times a week, Hot Shop Glass Studio and Gallery introduces students to the art and craft of glass-blowing with its popular workshop, Exploring Glass. Exploring Glass is the perfect learning opportunity for beginners, or even established artists looking to try something new.

According to Liz Gabriel, co-owner of the studio, β€œAnyone can learn to do this. Like many things, it takes diligence and practice, but we’re here to help, whether you need a little, or a lot.” Gabriel feels that glass is a fun medium to try because there is no stopping once the process has begun, unlike brush painting or sculpture.

The introductory class will have students learning how to make either a paperweight or ornament. Each session is two hours long and costs 40.00. Sessions are held on Thursdays and on varying hours on the weekends.Β  Registration is required and can be done over the phone or by stopping in on Saturdays between 1-4pm.Β  The required age for this workshop is 14 years and older. Persons with disabilities can be accommodated as well.
