Are you looking for something fun and exciting to do this summer? Look no further, because the Junior Lighthouse Brigade of Racine Marching Band is the place to be! Entering its 27th season, Junior Brigade is open to students entering the 6th grade through entering the 8th grade. Students will learn marching and musical performance techniques that prepare them for joining the Senior Brigade, which is a marching band for students in 9th-12th grade. Junior Brigade will compete in Mid-America Competing Band Director’s Association (MACBDA) parade performances, performing in a total of nine parade events, including a performance at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL! There are three ways for students to become involved in the Junior Lighthouse Brigade:
Horn Line – Band instruments including flutes, clarinets, alto & tenor saxophones, trumpets, trombones & tubas;
Battery – Marching percussion including snares, quints and bass drums; and

Color Guard – Open to students with dance and/or cheerleading experience with an emphasis on flag technique.
Junior Brigade will be starting rehearsals in preparation for the 2013 season and will be kicking everything off with a Recruitment/Parent Information Night. The first important dates of the season are:

Thursday April 18 (6:30PM-8:30PM) – Recruitment Night at Mitchell Middle School -2701 Drexel Ave, Racine, WI 53403
We ask that a parent and/or guardian accompany your student to this important meeting.
(If you are unable to attend this meeting – we will have all of the same paperwork and parent volunteers to answer questions at our Open House/First Camp.)
Saturday April 20 (9:00AM-5:00PM) Open House/First Camp of the season – Mitchell Middle School
Saturday May 4 (9:00AM-5:00PM) Second Camp of the season – Mitchell Middle School
