Professional Training: 1-1 Psychodrama For Psychotherapy, Coaching And Personal Growth

Psychodrama is an action method -- the forerunner of role playing --Β  that was originally developed for groups of people. However, psychotherapy, coaching and other one-to-one sessions can go very deep with the judicious application of psychodrama, and important shifts in perspective can happen in just one hour. In this workshop led by Karen Carnabucci, MSS, LCSW, TEP, you will learn:

  • How to adapt warm-up activities with one person.
  • How to evaluate the client’s story for role play possibilities.
  • How to comfortably introduce your clients to psychodrama and action methods.
  • How to use various role play techniques -- such as doubling, mirror, role reversal and soliloquy -- to amplify and deepen the components of the session.
  • The judicious use of props to set scenes and make the issue come alive.

Β

Three continuing education hours for social workers, addictions counselors and certified counselors, plusΒ psychodrama hours. Tuition is $35. Handouts and beverages will be provided. ContactΒ Karen at (262) 633-2645 to register; send check to Lake House, 932 Lake Ave., Racine, WI 53403.
