Scooter's Annual Wiener Dog Race and Open House

Fund Raiser Planned for Rescue Dogs 

       Katie’s Canine Klubhouse, 5144 Douglas Avenue is holding a fund raiser for dog rescue groups on Saturday, July 31 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Activities throughout the afternoon include an appearance by the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club’s Famous Racing Sausages™ who will kick off “Scooter’s Annual Wiener Dog Race” at Noon. Dachshunds, 6 months and older, are invited to race. Cost is $1.00 per dog and applications are available at Katie’s now until 11:00 AM race day.

       Other activities during the afternoon include a pet communicator offering readings; pet portraits by Swanson Art works; Innovative Wellness Solutions; Young Life Essential Oils; Candid Treats and others.

       HOPE Safehouse and Orphan Canines, as well as a number of breed-specific rescue groups will be on site. “We hope people considering adding a dog to their family will consider a rescued dog. With proper care and training they make wonderful pets,” said Katie Lenon Nevarro, owner of KCK. “It’s an opportunity to give a dog another chance at a good life.”
