The Choral Arts Society of Southeastern Wisconsin will present “The Joy of Lessons and Carols” on Friday, December 14, 2012, 7 PM, Siena Center, 5635 Erie Street Racine, WI, and again on Saturday December 15, 2012, 7 PM, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 5900 7th Ave., Kenosha, WI. An inspiring blend of chorus, organ, oboe and harp will express a musical message of joy and peace.
Christmas songs and carols with inspirational scripture readings will tell the story of Christmas, and convey its meaning of hope for our world. One of CAS’s most popular and beloved presentations, this concert is based on the traditional Service of Nine Lessons and Carols. The chorus will sing several fresh arrangements, and the audience will be invited to sing along with familiar carols.
At the Siena Center we help to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Dominicans in Racine. The program will feature the US Premiere of two new arrangements by English composer David Drummond only weeks before their formal publication in Great Britain.
