PATCH GUIDE: New Year's Dining
We've got a few ideas for you to consider this new Year's Eve.

You’ve eaten all the Christmas cookies you can possibly eat. There will be Christmas dinner leftovers in the fridge for another week.
So, why not treat yourself to a night out? It is New Year’s Eve after all.
And don’t worry about the money (or, at least, try not to – we know budgets are tight). The specials at these area restaurants will take help take out the sting as you ring in 2012.

Go all out with a four-course menu featuring your choice of crab cakes, Chevre fritters, tropical and lobster cocktail as a first course. The second course will include your choice of two salads or ahi tuna. For the third course, you choose from lamb chops, filet mignon, stuffed quail, halibut or asparagus ravioli. Finish off with chocolate marquise, caramel apple empanada, artisanal cheese and fruit, sorbet or ice cream. Cost is $60 per person. Dinner will be served from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Tables will be available for two hours. Reservations only.

Celebrate the magic of the new year with a masquerade party. The party begins at 9 p.m., with a costume contest at 11:30 p.m. First prize wins a $50 gift certificate. Second place gets a $25 gift certificate.

If you don’t think you’ll spill anything on your costume, dinner will be served until 10 p.m. For $20, enjoy prime rib dinner served with potatoes, lobster bisque soup and salad. Other dinner specials include surf and turf and lobster tail and shrimp, also for about $20.
Reservations are requested for dinner, but anyone can enjoy drink specials. From 9:30 to 11:30 p.m., get $5 pitchers of domestic beer, $2.50 champagne. New drink and shot specials will be available every 30 minutres.
There’s also a DJ from 9:30 p.m. until 1 a.m., as well free pool and giveaways every 15 minutes.

For something a little more low key – and by that we mean, no reservations required – consider surf and turf, steak, prime rib with the Pizza King. And, of course, you can always have pizza – dine in or carry-out -- for to celebrate the new year.
