Police Arrest Man After Car Chase, Crash, Spinout and Foot Chase Through Marsh

A suspect wanted by Caledonia Police eluded authorities there, only to have the long arm of the law in Oak Creek settle the matter.

RACINE COUNTY -- A suspect wanted by Caledonia Police was arrested by an Oak Creek officer after a car chase, crashing through a WE Energies guard shack and leading officers on a foot chase through a marsh.

Racine County Dispatch advised that Caledonia P.D. had been in pursuit of the driver of a white Pontiac heading north on Chicago Road near 7 mile road early on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Caledonia police advised the subject had fled from a traffic stop and were looking for him in the area of 7 Mile Road and Botting Road.

An Oak Creek police Sergeant was positioned at the WE Energies exit and heard sirens and observed the suspect's vehicle racing northbound on S. Chicago Road.

The officer deployed "stop sticks" only to have the suspect's vehicle change course and turn east onto WE Energies Drive.

Another Oak Creek police officer who was en route to the scene intiated pursuit at that time.

The suspect's vehicle drove into the guard shack gate and spun out shortly afterward. The vehicle continued along the drive before spinning out a second time, and coming to a rest. The driver of the vehicle then fled on foot.

The Oak Creek officer pursuing the suspect's vehicle reportedly exited his vehicle and initiated a foot pursuit of the suspect through the nearby woods and marsh area, and was able to get the suspect to surrender.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and turned over to the Caledonia Police Department for multiple open warrants and the two prior vehicle pursuits.

The vehicle and apprehension occurred on WE Energies property in Caledonia. Caledonia police subsequently towed the vehicle from the scene.
