Police Use 2 Doses of Narcan to Revive Drug User on Nature Drive Monday

Narcan is a drug commonly used in emergency situations to treat the acute symptoms of heroin users.

CALEDONIA -- Caledonia police successfully administered Narcan to revive an apparent drug user on Monday.

According to Caledonia police, officers were dispatched to the 6000 block of Nature Drive, to check on the health and welfare of a person. Officers discovered an unresponsive female in the bathroom of one of the residences on the block.

Officers noted the female had slow respirations and was turning gray. Officers began lifesaving measures and administered two doses of Narcan. Narcan is a drug commonly used to treat the acute symptoms of heroin users. Caledonia Rescue responded and took over lifesaving efforts.

The woman was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital and was subsequently admitted.

Police stated that no other information will be released.
