Racine County Man Dies When Falling Through Ice in Walworth County

WALWORTH COUNTY — A 44-year-old Burlington man is dead after his body was recovered from Lake Como on Friday in the Town of Geneva on Friday, Dec. 9.

According to a report from FOX 6, multiple agencies from Wisconsin northern Illinois began working against the clock. Officials say after four hours of searching, the body of a male in his 40s was pulled from the water.

The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Michael Montemayor of Burlington.

FOX 6 is also reporting that officers responded to the report that Montemayor had been walking on Lake Como when he fell through the ice. Police said Montemayor was several hundred yards onto the lake when he fell through.
