Racine County Sheriff to Veterans: 'Thank You'
"Our veterans are the true heroes in our community!" Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said Friday.

RACINE COUNTY -- Veterans Day is a time to honor those who have committed to defending the U.S. and enduring situations that most of us will never have to face.
Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling extends his sincere gratitude to all American Veterans on November 11th, Veteran’s Day, for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
"Our veterans are the true heroes in our community!" Schmaling said Friday.

Special thanks are given to those 40 Veterans that are current members of the Racine County Sheriff’s Office. They include 2 Lieutenants, 3 Sergeants, 4 Investigators, 24 Deputies and 7 Corrections Officers. Of these forty-one Veterans, seven are current active duty in the Army Reserves, Marine Reserves and/or National Guard.
"I couldn't be more proud of our military veterans. These are the brave men and women who have courageously served our country and now proudly serve our county," Schmaling wrote.
