Results of the Caledonia Police Sex Offender Halloween Compliance Checks

CALEDONIA -- Caledonia police conducted 15 different sex offender compliance checks on Halloween.

According to a press release issued by the Village of Caledonia police department, there were no reported violations.

According to state law, if a registered sex offender is on active supervision, they are banned from Halloween activities involving children. Registered sex offenders having Terminated status are not on state supervision and are therefore not subject to this restriction.

Participation is defined as actively taking part in the event and shall include, but is not limited to, distributing candy or other items to children on Halloween.
