Vodka-drinking minor packing BB Gun Arrested After Chase From St. Rita's Fest

Police arrested a 20-year-old Racine man after he was accused of carrying a BB gun that resembled a real pistol while drinking Skyy Vodka.

CALEDONIA - Police arrested a 20-year-old Racine man after he was accused of carrying a BB gun that resembled a real pistol while drinking Skyy Vodka at St. Rita's Fest this weekend.

Police arrested Ricky L. Brown, 20, Racine, who has subsequently been charged with disorderly conduct, carrying a dangerous weapon on school property and carrying a concealed weapon.

If convicted, he could face up to 21 months behind bars.

According to his criminal complaint, event security were beginning to clear out the carnival area of the festival grounds when they spotted Brown and another person drinking alcohol on school property.

As security approached the two youth, they fled on foot. Police say as Brown fled, he hopped a fence near the Suds and Grub tavern, and ended up dropping a BB gun that was made to resemble a real pistol.

Brown was later located in the 1700 block of Ellis Ave. by security and detained, according to police.

According to the criminal complaint, Brown admitted the BB gun was his, and admitted to drinking Skyy Vodka with one of his friends.

He is currently being held in the Racine County Jail on a $500 cash bond. His next appearance in court is Sep. 15.
