According to a Channel 3000 report, police said officers spoke to 31-year-old Johnson, who initially denied knowing how Myszkewicz died. Kimberly Myszkewicz and Johnson's father, Eric Johnson, turned over his .40-caliber Smith and Wesson pistol and said that after he learned Kenneth was killed, he checked his ammunition and found some .40-caliber rounds were missing.

According to the complaint, Johnson later admitted to the crime, stating to police, "Arrest me, I killed him."
