• Rowing Alumna Julia Going Earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship (ucfknights.com) — A Cedarburg native, rowing alumna Julia Going, has earned a prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship after excelling in the classroom and on the water at UCF. She helped lead the Knights to their first Big 12 rowing title and will now pursue a master's degree at Stanford with support from the award.
   

• 'Sets a terrible example': Dog rescuers react to DA's decision not to criminally charge officer who shot two dogs (gmtoday.com) — An Ozaukee County case near Highland and Cedarburg roads is drawing criticism after a former Thiensville officer who shot two unattended dogs received only a non-criminal forfeiture citation. Local rescuers of the surviving dog, now named Ranger, are pushing for better officer training on dog behavior and say the decision sends the wrong message about use of force in nearby communities.
