• Why Calumet County hasn't passed a data center moratorium (fox11online.com) — Calumet County leaders say they don't need a data center moratorium because current zoning already blocks large facilities in most townships, though rules may differ inside Chilton city limits. Officials are reviewing ordinance tweaks to close loopholes as residents question whether new energy projects could invite big data centers. For now, there are no active data center proposals.
   

• Sheriff's deputy pleads not guilty to charges for damaging daughter's cellphone (fox11online.com) — A Manitowoc County sheriff's lieutenant has pleaded not guilty in Chilton to misdemeanor charges accusing him of damaging his daughter's cellphone during a June incident. Court records describe a heated confrontation over the teen's phone and social media use, and the deputy is currently on administrative duty while the case proceeds, with his next court date set for October 28.
