• For Bronze Award, DeForest Girl Scouts present little free library (gazettextra.com) — A new Little Free Library is now open outside Christian Faith Moravian Church in DeForest, created by Girl Scout Troop 8143 as their Bronze Award project. The girls planned, fundraised, and installed the library after securing support from church leaders and Harvest Intermediate School, giving DeForest neighbors 24/7 access to free books and encouraging community literacy.
   

• DeForest native Emily Gerber-Kluck to be inducted into UW-Whitewater Athletic Hall of Fame (hngnews.com) — DeForest residents can cheer on hometown soccer standout Emily Gerber-Kluck, who will be inducted into the UW-Whitewater Athletic Hall of Fame on October 24. The former Warhawk star set multiple scoring records, earned three WIAC Player of the Year honors, and became the program's first All-American while helping lead the team to conference titles and a Sweet 16 run.
   

• Grounding a Charged Debate (wnanews.com) — DeForest gets a brief but important mention in a new Wisconsin Policy Forum report examining how large data centers affect local taxes, power demand, and community finances. The study reviews deals in several cities, including a proposal later canceled in DeForest, and outlines options state and local officials could use to better protect taxpayers as more projects are proposed.
