• Insurer chases $302K from Amazon over coffee maker fire (insurancebusinessmag.com) — A Denmark family’s home was heavily damaged after an Amazon Basics coffee maker allegedly malfunctioned and sparked a fire, and their insurer is now suing Amazon to recover about $302,000. The lawsuit, filed in federal court this week, argues Amazon should be treated as the product’s manufacturer because it designed, branded, and sold the coffee maker under its own label.
