Attend "Hairspray" with the Glendale Seniors Feb. 18. Buses leave Glen Hills Middle School lower parking lot at noon. Free tickets will be passed out on the bus, which will return to the school after the performance at around 3:45 p.m.

The Glendale Senior Citizens’ Club will attend the 1 p.m. performance of “Hairspray” at Nicolet High School on Wednesday, February 18. Buses leave the lower parking lot of Glen Hills Middle School, 2600 W. Mill Road, at noon and return by around 3:45 p.m. Free tickets will be passed out on the bus. There will be a 30-minute intermission with free refreshments.

The play is based on a 1988 John Walters film that made its musical debut on Broadway in 2002 and was made into a 2007 film. The play is set in 1962 and revolves around a plump teenager who wants to dance on a local version of ”American Bandstand.” She does, becomes a star, and uses her celebrity to racially integrate the show.
