Bitter-Sweet Moment for Potter Fans

The final Harry Potter movie debuted at midnight leaving longtime fans with an action-packed final chapter.

At long last, the final Harry Potter movie has been released.  After 10 years and eight movies, the worldwide phenomenon came to a close leaving fans with a bitter-sweet feeling. While Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 marks the end of a Potter-fed generation, it also leaves those eagerly awaiting the debut with little to be desired.

Theaters premiering the film at midnight sold completely out of tickets throughout the entire Milwaukee area. The movie, which lasted just over two hours, seamlessly ties moments from previous movies together, completing the story in a compelling way while undoubtedly claiming the title for “Most Violent” and “Most Action Packed.”

Deathly Hallows: Part 2 certainly earned its PG-13 rating, especially considering nearly two-thirds of the movie is brimming with spellbinding action scenes. Between the bloody casualties and certain fan-favorites meeting their doom, the series’ depth and maturity seems to grow along with its most loyal fan base.

What’s more interesting is who is featured in the final installment.  Fans eager to see the meek Molly Weasley or the statuesque Professor McGonagall hold their own in a gritty duel will not be disappointed.   The same goes for characters like Neville Longbottom, the character audiences pitied at the start of the series, but plays a crucial part in Harry’s success in the end.

However, credit for the twisting final plotline should be given to author J.K. Rowling. Potter-heads who haven’t read the book series will be completely surprised as to how the story unfolds. Allegiances are tested, twisted and turned, while some prove to be false all along.
