Celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend in your Milwaukee County Parks

Celebrate mothers, grandmothers, aunts, family, and friends in the parks over Mother's Day Weekend on Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 12th. There are many fun events going on at Wehr Nature Center, Boerner Botanical Gardens, The Mitchell Park Domes, and at eight of our golf courses.

Annual Mother’s Day Native Plant Sale
Saturday & Sunday: 9 am-3 pm 
Native plants from a local nursery will be on sale at the center. Items for sale include spring ephemerals, prairie plants, woodland plants, and wetland plant species. Arrive early for best selection. A $3 parking fee includes admission to the Nature Center and plant sale.

Birding with Paul
Sunday: 7:30 am
Both beginning and experienced birders are welcomed on the prime-time hike for viewing colorful migratory birds on the surrounding hiking trails. A $3 parking fee includes admission to the Nature Center.

Mother’s Day at Boerner
Sunday: 10 am-2 pm
The day features storytime with children’s author and illustrator Lois Ehlert. Children can also make a craft and pot a plant for mom. The fee is $6 per child. For more information call the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens (414) 525-5661.

Bartolotta's Mother’s Day Brunch
Sunday: 9 am-2 pm
The Bartolotta Catering Company’s brunch will include stations for appetizers, carved meats, omelets, waffles and French toast, and desserts. The price for ages 13 & up is $35.95; the price for children (ages 3-12) is $15.95. Call the Bartolotta Catering Company for reservations (414) 525-5635.

Tour The Gardens
Saturday & Sunday: 8am-6 pm
Come discover early spring blooms. Wildflowers, spring bulbs, magnolias, and daffodils are followed by forsythias, tulips, and flowering trees.

Blue Bayou Spring Floral Show
Saturday & Sunday: 9 am-4 pm
The show features a white gazebo, with Mardi Gras décor, surrounded by blue hydrangeas, tulips, lilies, and other spring flowers. A beautiful backdrop for family photos. Tour all three domes during your visit.

Mother's Day Performances in The Show Dome
Sunday: 11 am-1 pm  The Domes Resident Pianist, Jim William Mooney
Sunday: 1pm-2:30 pm  The Children's Choir of Waukesha

Jewelry is Fun Fair
Sunday: 9 am-4 pm
The fair features a selection of jewelry and accessories all priced at only $5.99. A great selection for any mom! Items include rings, bracelets, necklaces, scarves, tote bags, and more. The fair is a fundraising event for the Friends of The Domes.

Sunday: For tee times after 1 pm
Get Mom into the swing of things with a free round of golf and golf-car special! To receive the special offer, children, spouses, or friends purchase a round and single-rider golf car, and a mother golfs and rides for free.
