Enjoy the sweet taste of spring at Wehr Nature Center

Get a real feel for maple-sugarin' with lots of hands-on activities at Wehr Nature Center's Maple Sugar Days on March 23-24, 2013.

You know spring is coming when you see the tapped sugar maple trees with fresh sap dripping from the spouts at Wehr Nature Center in Franklin. Get the spring juices flowing at Maple Sugar Days on March 23rd or 24th, 2013.

Wehr Nature Center invites you to get a real feel for the "maple-sugarin' game with lots of hands-on activities. Take a short hike to the sugarbush and a visit with an old-time sugar maker, use a hand drill on a log, try Native-American methods of boiling sap, sample real maple syrup, and make a fun craft.

For a sweet reward, enjoy real maple syrup on a pancake, maple-sugar cotton candy, or other treats at this first ritual of spring. If you're inspired to try tapping your own maple trees, instruction sheets will be available, and Wehr's Nature Store will have sugaring equipment for sale.
