Glendale-River Hills presents "Project Fashion" May 3rd.

PROJECT FASHION!!

“Project Fashion” provides Glen Hills Middle School students with a unique mentoring opportunity at Bayshore Town Center.  This experience culminates with a fashion fundraiser show at Glen Hills Middle School.

Since March, thirty-five 8th grade students from Glen Hills Middle School have been participating in a fun and educational extra-curricular mentor program. They have been participating in a mock job search by creating resumes, filling out job applications, and going through the interview process with stores and restaurants at the Bayshore Town Center in Glendale.  Students are then assigned to “work” at one place of business and spend a minimum of 5 hours shadowing professionals to learn what a career is like in the retail or restaurant business.

To culminate this mentorship opportunity, students plan and host a fashion show fundraiser at Glen Hills. Retail mentees select an outfit that they handpick and model from the stores in which they apprenticed. Restaurant mentees plan a mini hors d’ oeuvres menu that will be served from the restaurants in which they apprenticed. 

The Fashion Show is open to the public and includes a red carpet and live music provided by the Glen Hills Middle School band. It’s an exciting event where everyone learns a little more about the world of retail and restaurants.

When: The Fashion Show is Friday, May 3 from 7-9 p.m.
Hand passed hors d’ oeuvres from 7-8, fashion show starting at 8pm. Tickets are $15.00.
