Is That A Room Full of Elephants?

JK students at Indian Hill get a lesson in animal senses from Milwaukee County Zoo.

If you would’ve walked past Mrs. Harrington’s junior kindergarten class at , you would’ve seen the class with all of their hands at their ears, imitating an elephant.

They have been learning about our five senses: sight, hear, smell, touch and taste.  Emily, from the Milwaukee County Zoo came to Indian Hill to talk about animals and their senses. The students learned that elephants have great hearing due to the shape of their giant ears. They also learned about a giraffe’s sense of taste, a polar bear’s sense of smell and a chinchilla’s sense of touch. Emily brought in a live chinchilla that everyone was able to touch. The Animal Senses Program from the Milwaukee County Zoo was sponsored by the Maple Dale-Indian Hill PTO.
