The NHS Boys Soccer team just completed another successful week and continue to build momentum as they edge closer to the start of the school year.  After a tough away loss on Wednesday to Whitefish Bay, the JV2 squad returned to the practice field for two tough training sessions in preparation for the Hartford Quad on Saturday where they played Hartford in the early morning match losing 4-1 with Jeremy Moser finding the back of the net for the team's only goal.  The second match of the day brought Kettle Moraine and earned their first victory of the season winning 1-0!  Zach Wahrman scored the winning goal with an assist from Jeremy Moser.  JV1 played their only match of the week on Tuesday vs. Homestead

and dominated winning 5-2 with the entire team contributing.  Varsity followed up that victory on Tuesday night with a big win against rival Homestead. It was good to see some excitement in the stands and a great deal of support!  The 3-1 victory was highlighted by a brace scored by Brady Behling and Westen Groh also adding to the score line.  The Knights then traveled to Brookfield Central on Saturday night.  The Match remained scoreless after the first half. The Lancers scored late to win 1-0.  This week, the JV1/V host Milwaukee Lutheran on Tuesday 5pm/7pm.  On Wednesday, the JV2 hosts Germantown on the upper field at 4:30pm.

The NHS Football team will host Homestead in the North Shore Conference Opener on Friday night at 7pm.  The Knights are 1-0 after defeating Waukesha South on the road 31-14 last Friday.  The Knights dominated the Blackshirts behind the exceptional running of Senior running back Tre Jenkins who scored three touchdowns including one from 90 yards out.  The JV also defeated Waukesha South 30-16 at

home and the Frosh team lost on the road to the Blackshirts 27-18, but put up a valiant effort in a game in which they only suited up 15 players due to injuries.  On Thursday this week, the JV will host Homestead on and the Frosh will travel to Homestead.

 

The NHS Girls Tennis team is ranked #4 in the area and will host Milwaukee Lutheran on Thursday in JV/V action.

 

The NHS Girls Golf team opened their season by competing in the Brookfield Central/Homestead Invite.  The team shot a 367 the first day and a 373 the second day at Wanaki GC.  Emily Murphy carded a teal low 81 each day.  The team later golfed at Washington County GC in the Pius Inviational shooting a 396 and was lead by Murphy's 82.  This week, the Varsity golfs at the North Shore Country Club on Monday night and Ozaukee on Wednesday.  The JV will shoot at Lincoln Park on Wednesday.

 

The NHS Girls Swim team will swim at Homestead in the conference opener on Tuesday at 6pm.

 

The NHS Boys Volleyball team will begin their season on Saturday, September 1st at Kettle Moraine High School in the Lancer Invite.

 

The NHS Girls Volleyball team played well in the Joust Tournament at Homestead this past weekend, finishing 7th out of the top 24 teams in the State.  This week, the team will be busy with a home match against Homestead on Thursday followed by a JV invite at Milwaukee Riverside on Friday and a Varsity

Tournament at Muskego on Saturday.

 

The NHS Cross Country team will run in an invite at Greefield Park beginning at 5:30pm on Friday.

 

The NHS Booster Club has some announcements for you:

            1) Future Nicolet Families can also become Booster Club members by purchasing a Community Booster Club pass.  Please contact the Athletic/Recreation Office at     351-7566 or consult the Athletic/Recreation Department website.

            2) Nicolet Families can purchase concessions stand gift certificates (flyer attached) for use at the Booster Club concession stands both inside and outside of NHS

                on game days.

            3) The next Booster Club meeting is Wednesday, September 5th, at 7pm in room B113.  Please consider joining.  It will be the most fun you have volunteering.
