Nicolet Baseball Team Working Toward State and Athletic Hall of Fame Looking at 2011 Inductees

The Nicolet baseball team faces off against Germantown as they work their way to state.

The Nicolet Baseball Team is currently ranked 8th in the area with a 16-8 overall record and an 11-5 North Shore Conference record.

The Knights have already wrapped up the #1 seed in their regional and will host the 8th seeded Port Washington Pirates on July 19 at Stormonth Field at 5:30pm in the first round of the WIAA Summer Baseball Playoffs. A win would put the Knights in the WIAA Sectionals at Whitefish Bay on July 22nd. Two wins on the 22nd would send the Knights to Stevens Point for the WIAA Summer Baseball State Tournament. The Knights are led by a trio of star pitchers: Joel Sharon, Jason Blumenfeld and Hunter Crass.

Offensively, they are lead by powerhitting first/third baseman D.J. Peltz. After the Germantown game, the Knights will prepare for the playoffs with games at Sheboygan Falls on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m., Friday night at 5 p.m. at Eisenhower and Saturday at home versus Shorewood. The Saturday home
game is at 3 p.m. and will be "Senior Knight" honoring all the Nicolet senior ball players.
