Wildcats Outscore Oconomowoc in Girls Lacrosse
University School's girls lacrosse team beat Oconomowoc 16-4 Thursday.
The University School girls’ lacrosse team defeated Oconomowoc 16-4 Thursday at USM.
On a day that felt like it was dunked in the Arctic Ocean, USM’s scoring got hot quickly. The Wildcats tallied two goals in the opening two minutes, ten in the first half, and consequently cruised to an easy victory.
USM’s head coach Samantha Adey said, “It was a good game for us. Everyone on the bench got playing time, and everyone contributed, which is always great to see. Our performance on draw controls and ground balls was much better than in our first game, and hopefully we can continue to improve on this throughout the season. Individually, Elana Fishbaine had an outstanding game. She dominated the draw and had five goals and three assists. Katherine Engman had another strong showing with six goals and seven draw controls. Her efforts on defense also caused four turnovers. Madeline Joerres was also excellent anchoring our defensive unit. She scooped up five ground balls and caused four turnovers.”
