Farmers' Market Last Day

This  Saturday is the last day of the market this year. Thank you to our terrific vendors, customers and volunteers for a wonderful  season. Special thanks to our media sponsor WUWM, Public Radio 89.7, for promoting us every week.

The  Fox Point Foundation will  give away caramel apples while they last, and organic apple cider donated by Log Cabin Orchard.

It’s time to enjoy fall’s bounty! There are vegetables of every color,  flavor, shape and size. Trout or salmon burgers for the freezer make quick and delicious dinners that are easy on the budget.  As the weather turns cooler, we start thinking: it’s chili time. We like to make a double batch of beef or chicken chili to enjoy now and later. Peppers of many colors may be washed seeded and cut into strips or chunks, then frozen for hearty soups or stews when the cold weather arrives.  Organic apples and cider will be available this week, along with maple syrup, apple cider vinegar and apple syrup.  For more ideas on capturing the harvest, visit www.culinate.com
