are continuing to investigate another animal incident after a bicycle rider was charged by a local dog, leaving the rider with possible damage to his tendon.

A 66-year-old man was riding his bicycle in the 300 block of West Nokomis Court around 6 p.m. on Aug. 2. He told police a Labrador-looking dog ran towards him onto the street and even though he turned his bike away from the dog, it struck the bicycle and caused him to fall to the blacktop, according to the report.

The homeowner came out and asked if the man was OK a few times, then went back into the home. The victim told police he now has extensive shoulder pain that's accompanied by torn tendons in his right shoulder, a result of the fall from the dog rushing him on the street.
