Glendale Traffic Stop for Seatbelt Violation Turns Into Heroin, Cocaine and Pot Bust
A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested by police after a traffic stop for an apparent seat belt violation turned into a sizable drug bust.

GLENDALE -- A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested by police in Glendale last week after a traffic stop for an apparent seat belt violation turned into a heroin, pot and cocaine bust.
According to police, Joshua James Jones was driving a Chevrolet Caprice on West Silver Spring Dr. on Dec. 20 when a Milwaukee Police officer observed that neither Jones nor his passenger were wearing their seat belts.
The officer conducted a traffic stop, and found that Jones also had a suspended driver's license. While speaking with Jones, the officer reported smelling marijuana from the vehicle's cabin in addition to spotting a knotted sandwich bag in the passenger side door handle, his criminal complaint stated.

A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded 12.54 grams of heroin and 12.88 grams of cocaine in addition to a loaded .45 caliber handgun under the driver's seat, the complaint stated.
According to police, a quart-sized jar was also located, which contained approximately 46 grams of marijuana. 52 pink oxycodone pills were also located near the jar of marijuana.

Jones is currently being held in the Milwaukee County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond. He has been charged with two counts of felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, use of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
Jones could face up to 20 years behind bars if he is convicted of the maximum sentences in each of the two felony counts against him.
