
By Ryan Ekvall | Wisconsin Reporter MADISON — Taxpayers: Your bill for the trade mission Gov. Scott Walker and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. took to China earlier this spring has arrived. The total cost to taxpayers — about $125,000, according to documents obtained by Wisconsin Reporter under the state’s open records law. When the cadre arrived back from China, Walker said he couldn’t put an exact number on return on investment on the trip in terms of the number of jobs or expanded business that might come from it. He did say the trip was an overwhelming success and pointed to deals made during the China trade mission for the Wisconsin companies that took part. “You’ll see some real tangible job numbers out of it long term,” Walker said at the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce after arriving to Wisconsin.
