HILLEL ACADEMY STUDENTS CELEBRATE EARTH WEEK WITH ECO-WALK

Students to hold campus-wide clean up in honor of Earth Day

In celebration of Earth Day, Hillel Academy students and staff will participate in a school-wide eco-walk to clean up the campus. After returning from spring break they will be studying ways that they could incorporate green practices into their day-to-day lives by recycling, using less water, and being mindful of waste.

The Eco-Walk will include 100+ participates, consisting of the student body, administration and staff. This is the third Eco-Walk that Hillel Academy has participated in on the Max and Anita Karl Jewish Community Campus, and last year the students collected over 30 bags of trash. Members of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation came to provide security and oversight during the walk last year, and were very impressed with the student’s fortitude and dedication to the beautification of their school campus.

The Hillel Academy students will spend an hour traversing across the campus in small groups, with the older grades pairing with younger students to assist them. They will be cleaning up the playground, parking lot and surrounding inlet roads including the road that connects with Port Washington Road.
