I-43 Corridor Construction Meetings Wednesday, Thursday
Department of Transportation looking for resident input on lane capacity, on/off ramps and more.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is in the beginning phases of determining options for the I-43 corridor, including lane capacity and on/off ramps between Silver Spring Drive and WI-60. Currently, engineers for the WDOT are developing an environmental impact study, which helps identify key concerns, issues and potential problems within the study area.
On Jan. 30, the DOT will be holding a public informational meeting at Nicolet High School, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Rd. Glendale, from 5 to 8 p.m. There will also be a public meeting on Jan. 31, at Christ Church, 13460 N. Port Washington Rd., Mequon, from 4 to 7 p.m.
These meetings will be held in an open house format, so that interested parties can review exhibits and handouts. WisDOT staff members and consultants will be on hand to answer questions, and provide additional insight to the proposed alternatives.

While the project is in the initial phases, and actual construction is not expected to begin for several years, the planning phase serves as a vital opportunity for those to voice their opinion on the project.
