Knights Volleyball Team Earns Top Sectional Seed

A season that saw the Nicolet girls volleyball team win the regular-season conference title has earned the Knights the No. 1 seed in the WIAA Sectional and a bye in the first round.

The Knights, ranked fifth in state coaches poll, play Oct. 22 against the winner of the Milwaukee Riverside/Milwaukee King match.

Coach Dann Jacobsen's team already boasts two victories against Burlington, ranked No. 1 by the coaches, as well as wins over Brookfield Central, the sectional's No. 2 seed, and Menomonee Falls, ranked No. 6 in Wisconsin. On Oct. 6, the and then topped Whitefish Bay to finish the conference season unbeaten.

The Knights made it to state in 2009 but lost to Muskego in three sets in the quarterfinals.
