The Milwaukee Branch of the NAACP is adding their voice to County Executive Chris Abele’s and the many others who have urged the Milwaukee County Board not to fire the county’s top attorney. The Board is expected to vote today on outing Kimberly Walker.
In an email sent to the Board Wednesday night, the NAACP says the move by Supervisors appears to be based on a political agenda.
The NAACP’s letter of support of Kimberly Walker is one of many sent to the County Board in the past 24 hours. Others who have expressed their concern about this action include the Wisconsin Association of African-American Lawyers, Marc Marotta, former Wisconsin Department of Administration Secretary and a partner at the Foley & Lardner Law Firm and Cory Nettles, former Wisconsin Department of Commerce Secretary and attorney at the Quarles & Brady Law Firm.
