Nicolet Aiming to Raise $20K With Annual Golf Outing

David Hobbs Honda and PNC Bank Mortgage will be the primary corporate sponsors for the annual fundraiser happening June 16 at the Silver Spring Country Club.

After falling about $5,000 short of their goal last year, the Nicolet Athletic Department is hoping to reach this year's goal of $20,000 with another round at the Silver Spring Country Club.

This is the fourth year for the outing and has raised nearly $15,000 in prevoius years. The money goes to improving athletic facilities, spirit wear and equpiment neeeds.

“The donations have helped us upgrade the scoreboards in the gym, and things such as improve the well being of Nicolet’s athletic teams,” Athletic Director Kirk Krychowiak said.

Ralph Rinehart is a former  parent and golf outing committee member. He teed off the fundraiser four years ago in hopes of improving the football facilities. The golf outing has evolved and expanded to helping provide and fund all Nicolet sports. Last year, each sports team received $600 toward their respective budgets.

“The biggest goal for this event is to register 144 golfers for the day which is the maximum we can have," Krychowiak said. "Last year, we had 100 participants. The more golfers we can get, the more money we can receive in donations and raise for Nicolet athletics.”

Any golfers participating in the fundraiser receive an automatic entry into the drawing for prizes like as a new car or a luxury suite at a Milwaukee Brewers game.

David Hobbs Honda and PNC Bank Mortgage are the two corporate sponsors for this year's outing and Executive Vice President Greg Hobbs said he's happy to continue supporting Nicolet.

“It is an honor to support Nicolet High School Athletes for their fourth annual golf outing," Hobbs said. "David Hobbs Honda feels it is a win-win situation for both parties involved."

Business, organizations and corporations can show their support for Nicolet by sponsoring a specific hole for $200. This gives the sponsor name recognition on all publications, media and print notices of the outing.

Foursomes cost $380 as a group, or $95 individually. Non-golfers can also pitch in by attending the post-outing dinner for $25.
