Pry Bar Leads Police to Suspect Accused in Two Glendale Armed Robberies

Police say man staged armed robberies at Citgo and Kaul Mart recently, was caught on DNA evidence.

GLENDALE - Police say a pry bar dropped at the scene of an armed robbery in Glendale led to the arrest of the suspect.

Tyler Fendt, 32, Fredonia, is accused of staging two armed robberies in the area, and faces up to 50 years behind bars if convicted.

According to his criminal complaint, Fendt walked into the Citgo on March 28 holding a knife and reportedly approached a store employee and said "I won't hurt you, just give me whatever you have," the complaint said.

According to the complaint, Fendt ordered the clerk to open the cash register and fled with an estimated $450.

On April 4, police responded to the Kaul Mart on West Silver Spring Drive for an armed robbery complaint.

Police were told that a man carrying a box cutter demanded the store employee open the register. The store employee refused and directed a customer to call 911, the complaint said.

Fendt reportedly took out a pry bar in an attempt to open the register. Video footage showed he took off his glove when using the pry bar, the complaint said.

Police recovered the pry bar and processed it for DNA, which drew a match with Fendt, the complaint said.

Police say Fendt was arrested on May 19 in Ozaukee County.
