About 200 Show Up at Anti-Walker Rally Near Bayshore
Demonstrators of all ages protest budget repair bill and push effort to recall Darling.
About 200 people attended a rally at I-94 and Port Washington Road in Glendale Saturday morning as part of the ongoing protests against Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill.
Most carrying signs and chanting anti-Walker slogans, a peaceable crowd displayed their signs to cars and buses passing on the road. In response many cars honked and gave the thumbs-up sign, while those with differing viewpoints gave a thumbs-down sign.
Also in the crowd were children, adults with their dogs, teachers and some elderly residents from the area. Petitions to recall Republican state Sen. Alberta Darling made the rounds, and organizers handed out petitions to recall Sen. Glen Grothmann as well.

The rally across from Bayshore Town Center, which was planned earlier in the week, came in the face of Walker’s promise to begin layoffs around the state.
A Glendale police cruiser stopped for a few moments to instruct some protesters to stay clear of the median for safety reasons and they complied.
