Village Helps Get Rid of Garden Waste
Department of Community and Utility Services will remove yard waste beginning April 4.
Spring means yard cleanup, maybe raking some leaves and digging up the garden to get it ready for planting. In an effort to help residents with removing this debris, Bayside offers yard waste removal beginning April 4.
"Yard waste is a separate collection that includes organic material,"said Alex Henderson, director of community and utility services.
These are items that don't really belong in the garbage, but still need to be removed, like bagged leaves, bagged garden debris, twigs or brush. Administrators just ask that the debris be placed at the end of the driveway by 7 a.m. in a reusable container, or placed in a biodegradable bag. Just like recycling and garbage pickup though, there is a set schedule for each area within the village. That schedule can be found here.

A few things that are not included in this pickup are concrete, bricks or rocks, thatch, contractor created debris, sod or grass clippings.
"We continue to strongly encourage residents to bag their yard waste to help keep yard waste debris out of ditches so it doesn't clog storm water culverts, off roads, and help expedite collection of materials," said Village Manager Andy Pederson.

Residents who may have missed their scheduled day can utilize the yard waste drop off located at 201 E. Fairy Chasm Rd.
