Wilson Deemed Not Competent to Continue Legal Proceedings
Fox Point teen accused of killing his grandfather with an ax could spend up to one year in a mental health facility.

Richard Wilson, a Fox Point teen accused of murdering his grandfather, was ruled incompetent to continue legal proceedings by Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Bill Domina on Thursday.
Wilson, 17, will be sent to the Mendota Mental Health Institute where he will receive treatment for up to one year. However, a doctor’s report on Wilson’s mental status states he could become competent in the future with proper treatment and medication. If his mental status does improve, legal proceedings could continue.
If his condition doesn't improve within a year, another hearing will be held to determine what process the legal proceedings should take next.

Wilson is accused of murdering his grandfather and prominent real estate developer Ronald Siepmann with an ax on Mother’s Day. Siepmann was found inside a shed on his property in the Town of Merton.
After Siepmann’s body was discovered, Wilson told his mother he had killed him in order to break a curse of schizophrenia in the family. After being arrested, he also made threats against other family members.

Wilson is a diagnosed schizophrenic and hadn’t been taking his medications prior to the crime. Domina ordered Wilson be subjected to involuntary treatment if he refuses medications at the mental health facility.
Wilson’s family and defense attorney, Jennifer Dorow, didn’t comment after the proceedings. Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel wouldn’t comment on the nature of the findings of the mental health report other than it deemed Wilson not competent at this time.
