Franklin Kick-Off Celebration For National Night Out Planned

FRANKLIN, WI — Franklin Police Department announced details for a kick-off celebration for the 16th annual National Night Out. The nationwide event brings police and the community together to learn about law enforcement.
Franklin Police Department announced on Facebook that it will hold a "kick-off celebration" for National Night Out on August 2 to draw support for the nationwide event that happens on August 3. The event will bring the department and the community together to learn about crime prevention and law enforcement, according to the Facebook post.
The kick-off celebration will be held 6-9 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the Franklin Public Library, located at 9151 West Loomis Road in Franklin.

The celebration will have numerous fire and police vehicles on display, the post said. The event will also make Franklin Police officers available for questions from the public about preventing crime and other community programs, the post said.
Area businesses will also participate in the kick-off celebration. The Department said in its Facebook post that some local businesses will have informational booths at the event and that they will hand out gifts to children.
