Aaron Rodgers Says He Expects To Retire After 2026-2027 Season

Aaron Rodgers says one more NFL season will be enough.

The former Green Bay Packers quarterback said he will retire after the 2026-2027 season, according to ESPN.

Rodgers, 42, is returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2026 season after agreeing to a one-year deal.

The season will be Rodgers’ 22nd in the NFL and his second with Pittsburgh. He spent 18 seasons with the Packers before playing for the New York Jets and later the Steelers.

Rodgers remains one of the most important players in Packers history. He won four NFL MVP awards with Green Bay and led the Packers to a Super Bowl XLV win over the Steelers.

The Packers traded Rodgers to the Jets after the 2022 season, clearing the way for Jordan Love to become Green Bay’s starting quarterback.

Rodgers’ first season with the Jets lasted only four plays before he tore his Achilles. He later joined the Steelers, extending a career that began when Green Bay drafted him in the first round in 2005.

Rodgers has previously said he plans to retire as a Packer when his playing career ends.
