1. Green Bay police audit Flock data, suspend sharing in response to privacy concern (wpr.org) — Green Bay police are auditing their Flock license plate reader system and have stopped sharing data outside Brown County while they review privacy safeguards. Chief Chris Davis says the technology has helped reduce crime but stresses limits like 30‑day data retention and bans on monitoring First Amendment events to balance safety with residents' civil liberties.
2. Neville Public Museum still in search of a permanent executive director (wbay.com) — Leaders in Green Bay have decided the Neville Public Museum and Green Bay Children's Museum won't merge, after a task force flagged more risks than benefits. Now Brown County is urgently searching for a new executive director to protect Neville's accreditation, future exhibits, and grant funding. Local officials are also pushing for more public input and potential partnerships, including with UW-Green Bay.
3. Donald Driver joins effort to address childhood cavities in Wisconsin (wearegreenbay.com) — A new oral health campaign launched in Green Bay is teaming Network Health, Donald Driver, and the Green Bay Packers to push better dental care for Wisconsin kids. With most third graders already having cavities, organizers want families here to see brushing and dental visits as essential to overall health, from preventing tooth decay to lowering risks for serious diseases.
4. Small Wisconsin communities to receive $19.7M for infrastructure upgrades (nbc26.com) — Announced from Green Bay communities will share more than $19.7 million in federal Community Development Block Grant funding for infrastructure upgrades. The money will support street repairs, water and sewer improvements, drainage projects, and wastewater treatment in smaller, lower-income municipalities. State officials say local governments will also contribute over $37 million in matching funds to stretch the impact.
