• Green Bay zoning change opens more options for Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary (wearegreenbay.com) — A recent zoning change by the City of Green Bay is giving Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary many more options as it searches for a new permanent home after its previous building's roof collapse. The nonprofit is touring potential sites, operating temporarily from a church with far fewer cats, and working toward a $500,000 fundraising goal to remodel a new facility.
• Brown County reports progress in fight against fentanyl, opioid misuse (wearegreenbay.com) — Brown County leaders say overdose deaths have dropped since declaring fentanyl a health crisis, while warning of a recent uptick and outlining next steps that affect Green Bay residents. Local efforts include Narcan available from a public health vending machine at the Ferguson Family YMCA downtown, expanded treatment staffing, and new youth-focused prevention initiatives planned for 2027.
• Sustainably Speaking: Bilingual Little Explorers class (wearegreenbay.com) — Families in Green Bay can now explore Baird Creek's trails through a new bilingual Little Explorers class designed for children ages 1.5 to 5 and their caregivers. The pilot program uses hands-on nature play, offered in both English and Spanish, to help more local families feel welcome in the greenway and shape future bilingual offerings.
