Green Bay, Wis. (Oct. 18, 2021) - Current Young ProfessionalsΒ (CYP), a program of the Greater Green Bay Chamber, has announcedΒ fourΒ presenters for theΒ upcoming fallΒ 2021 SupportΒ OfΒ Urban Projects (SOUP) dinner.Β

Greater Green Bay SOUP is a creative and collaborative approach toward crowdfunding local urban projects. The SOUP dinner will be hosted at the Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley on Thursday, Nov. 11, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Registration is $10 per attendee, which goes towards funding the micro-grant.Β

The presenters for the fall 2021 SOUP include:Β 

  • Community Art WallΒ presented by Brooke Hafs.Β To help flourish creativity in Greater Green Bay,Β On Broadway is lookingΒ to install a community art wall inΒ the Broadway District for artists or community membersΒ to come and practice their artwork on a large scale.Β ThisΒ would be another way to bringΒ public art to the community, which helps create clean, safe and attractive spaces for people. Funding from the micro-grant would go to the building of the free-standing wallΒ and allowΒ On BroadwayΒ to stock up on white paint for creating fresh space on the wall.Β Β 
  • Iridian MoonΒ presented by Jesse Villwock.Β Iridian Moon is a free drop-in resource center held Monday nights atΒ TheΒ Artemystic; the center provides a safe space for LGBTQ+ high school teens in the Greater Green Bay area.Β Along with a safe area to connect with others, the center educates teens on healthyΒ relationships, STI prevention, consent issues, self-advocacy and building confidence.Β Funding fromΒ the micro-grant would go to continuing to provide refreshments and resourcesΒ for the teens, including menstrual care products, literature, movie nights and craft supplies.Β Β 
  • New Leaf Garden BlitzΒ presented by Kim Diaz.Β New Leaf Foods, Inc., has supported the Greater Green Bay area with programs that educate consumers and improve access to healthy food, especially in disadvantaged neighborhoods. Since 2014,Β the Garden Blitz project has promoted the benefits of urban food gardening by installing garden boxes to help familiesΒ grow their own food. Funding from the micro-grant would go towards supplies and equipment for garden box building.Β 
  • Service League Back-to-School StoreΒ presented by Heather Milbach.Β HostedΒ by the Service League of Green BayΒ at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, theΒ Back-to-School Store is a unique serviceΒ eventΒ offered to children from low-income families in Brown County.Β The eventΒ provides school supplies that children need to start the school year at no cost to the families.Β Funding from the micro-grant would go towardsΒ purchasing and stocking up the inventory of school supplies for the event.Β 
  • The winning project micro-grant is funded byΒ the Volunteer Center of Brown CountyΒ and Alive &Β Kickin’ Pizza CrustΒ and through attendees’ registration.Β The soup dinner is provided byΒ Bay Motel & Family Restaurant, Biebel’s Catering & Rental, The Booyah Shed, The MarqΒ Catering & Banquet and White Dog Green Bay; bread is provided by Great Harvest Bread Company.Β
