Green Bay, Wis. (Nov. 17, 2021) - Current Young Professionals, a program of the Greater Green Bay Chamber,Β announcedΒ Iridian MoonΒ as the 2021Β fallΒ SupportΒ OfΒ Urban Projects (SOUP)Β micro-grant recipientΒ on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021.Β 

Green Bay, Wis. ( Nov. 1 7 , 2021) - Current Young Professionals, a program of the Greater Green Bay Chamb er , Β announce d Β  Iridian Moon Β as the 2021Β  fall Β S upportΒ  Of Β Urban Projects (SOUP) Β micro-grant recipient Β on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021.

TheΒ fallΒ 2021 recipientΒ proposalΒ was presented byΒ Jesse VillwockΒ atΒ the Ashwaubenon Bowling AlleyΒ with more than 100 community members present.Β The dinnerΒ raised over $2,000 for the micro-grantΒ through the generosity of community residents,Β AliveΒ N’ Kickin’ Pizza CrustΒ and the Volunteer Center of Brown County.Β AttendeesΒ were excited by the impact the eventΒ makes inΒ the Greater Green Bay community.Β 

Iridian Moon is a free drop-in resource center held Monday nights at TheΒ ArtemysticΒ in Downtown Green Bay; the center provides a safe space for LGBTQ+ high school teens in the Greater Green Bay area. Along withΒ beingΒ a safe area to connect with others, the center educates teens on healthy relationships, STI prevention, consent issues, self-advocacy and building confidence. The funding from the micro-grant will go to continuing to provide refreshments and resources for the teens, including menstrual care products, literature, movie nights and craft supplies.Β 

SoupΒ at the dinnerΒ was provided byΒ Bay Family Restaurant,Β Biebel’s Catering & Rental,Β The Booyah Shed, the Marq Restaurant, Banquet & Catering and White Dog Green Bay; bread was provided by Great Harvest Bread Company.Β Β 

The next SOUP dinner will be inΒ MayΒ 2022 as a part ofΒ CurrentWeek.Β
